Growing that business to multiple locations across the United States and a team of dozens of trainers and support staff it became increasingly clear that the service dog handlers they were training kept ending up with problems in public.
Employees at hotels, restaurants, apartment and condo complexes, malls, retail, airlines, and more would illegally refuse access to trained service dogs, say insensitive things, and otherwise cause issues for people with disabilities who need their service dogs for daily function.
Meanwhile, while working with these companies upon hearing complaints from service dog clients, Ty noticed that the employees committing these illegal acts were often well-meaning. But they simply didn’t have the training and knowledge to know how to handle service dogs in their businesses with legality, tact, and empathy.
More and more will be in public.
